The Centre for the Study of Bible and Mission (CSBM) exists to serve the Global Church by promoting missional engagement with the Bible, and biblical engagement with mission thinking and practice. This is done through:

  • Promoting, deepening, and broadening the conversation on missional hermeneutics within the academy;
  • Connecting, equipping, promoting, and encouraging the current and future generations of missional hermeneutics scholars and scholar-practitioners;
  • Embedding mission into the reading, preaching, and studying of the Bible in churches

CSBM is the personal website of Dr Tim J. Davy, lecturer in Biblical Studies and Mission at All Nations Christian College in the UK.

Tim has an MA in Biblical Studies and wrote his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Gordon McConville and Dr Alison Lo on the missional interpretation of Scripture. His thesis was entitled The Book of Job and the Mission of God: An Application of a Missional Hermeneutic to the Book of Job and was subsequently published by Wipf & Stock in 2020 as The Book of Job and the Mission of God: A Missional Reading.

Tim has two main research interests: the missional interpretation of the Bible, and children-at-risk in the Bible and the contemporary world. To receive weekly updates on Tim’s work, subscribe to his Substack, The Bible, Mission, and More.
